Denise has more than fifteen years’ experience in the professional services sector – as general manager and executive team member of legal and patent attorney firms, chief executive and company secretary of a professional association covering accounting and legal professionals in insolvency, and as a management consultant herself over many years. She has early career experience with the regulatory authority for tax professionals.
She finds working with the professions satisfying and challenging in equal measure and has a deep appreciation of the unique business characteristics of professional services firms and partnership structures.
These are some of Denise’s achievements in professional services firms:.
- Driving the business transformation of a $13 million patent attorney firm over a three year period, including a major strategic review, cultural change and successful delivery of major systems implementations. Subsequently, as a member of the firm’s negotiation team, supporting the firm’s merger with a New Zealand firm, and being appointed as deputy general manager of the merged firm;
- Transforming the ARITA (formerly IPA Australia) business operations, growing revenue by 60% in three years, by introducing appropriate process and system automation, restructuring team for required skills and experience and increasing member and customer orientation; and
- Working as a virtual member and leader of project teams from leading international consulting firms Bain & Co and McKinsey & Company.
